The Mercedes-Benz EQE is ready to debut at the Munich Motor Show on September 6. The German manufacturer has released a first image of the exterior of the electric model, the second Mercedes after the flagship EQS built on the EVA platform designed exclusively for the group’s zero-emission cars. The EQE sedan will carry forward Mercedes’ Sensual Purity styling philosophy studied by the Gorden Wagener-led design team.

Reduced overhangs, near-absence of edges and a long wheelbase. The design of the car will repeat what has been seen on the EQS: the goal is maximum aerodynamic efficiency of the vehicle. In particular, the EQE will also be characterized by the “One Bow Line”: a line, in fact, arc, which starts from the front arriving up to the rear almost without interruption.

The first image of the EQE highlights a muscular side and shows the LED light signature of the full-width headlight. Mercedes also showed the first image of the interior, characterized by the presence on the dashboard of the Hyperscreen, the huge full-width Oled digital panel also debuting on the EQS. The Mercedes-Benz EQE will arrive in its production version in 2022 and, at the moment, the most direct rival seems to be the Audi A6 e-tron, unveiled as a concept car at the Shanghai Motor Show 2021.
