BMW unveils the second generation of the compact 2 Series Active Tourer MPV. The car will hit the market in February 2022 with a completely revamped design resulting from the work of the BMW style center led by Domagoj Dukec. The front end houses a new grille that is larger than the previous generation, framed on either side by LED headlamps and two graphic air intakes.

Designers worked to refine the lines and increase the vehicle’s aerodynamics. The front pillars are much more inclined than the previous model, the door handles are flush with the bodywork as well as the slimmer rear pillars give a new line to the profile. Updates have also affected the rear: the LED headlights are more taut and thinner, while the exhaust tips have been integrated into the bumpers.

Depending on the model variant, 16- or 17-inch light-alloy wheels are fitted as standard, while optional light-alloy wheels up to 19 inches are available. The 2 Series Active Tourer can also be ordered in Luxury Line trim or with an M Sport package as an alternative to the base specification. Two non-metallic and nine metallic paint finishes are available for the exterior.

The interior has been redesigned following in part the styling philosophy inaugurated by the iX electric SUV and the i4 zero-emission sedan. According to the manufacturer’s statement, this creates a state-of-the-art premium environment, key features of which include the new BMW Curved Display consisting of two 10.5- and 10.7-inch panels, a floating armrest with an integrated control panel and an overall reduction in the number of physical control elements.
