For a designer to create something new is difficult, but getting your hands on a true motoring legend can be even more complicated. “The first thing I thought of when I started working on the new Mustang was the sound of the V8 for a free and endless road,” says exterior designer Christopher Stevens. “We listened to the advice of our customers and a cleaner, more modern style was born. The interior and exterior designers worked together and the result is really special,” continues Omead Dorandish, Senior Exterior Designer.

The seventh Ford Mustang, a legendary model that has been in production for 58 years without interruption, adds a modern touch to a design inspired by tradition. The distinctive three-section bonnet aligns with the new LED headlights to create a more striking front end, an identity strongly influenced by the first generation of the 1960s and optimised to comply with the latest safety regulations, such as pedestrian impact. The sleek roofline, lowered stance and shortened rear overhang are faithful to the authentic proportions of the first generation, while the widened rear flanks define the model in terms of strength and power, emphasising sportiness, particularly in the GT version powered by the powerful 5.0 V8, a must for a Mustang. The rear houses new, sharp three-bar lighting and a redesigned diffuser for improved aerodynamic performance.
