At the Tokyo Auto Salon, Lexus presented two concept cars that celebrate the outdoors and zero-emission sportiness. The Rx Outdoor Concept is based on the new Rx 450h+ Plug-in Hybrid Electric and features exclusive equipment for an active outdoor lifestyle. The car is clad in an exclusive exterior colour called ‘Regolith’, which combines matt texture, gloss and toughness, drawing inspiration from the microscopic particles that accumulate on the surface of celestial bodies. On the roof, a two-person tent.

Extreme sportiness is represented by the Rz Sport Concept, also based on the Rz, and developed under the supervision of racing driver Masahiro Sasaki. The model features high-powered 150 kW engines at the front and rear for even more exhilarating driving performance and has been lowered by 35 millimetres. It is equipped with customised aerodynamic parts, larger diameter tyres and racing-style seats, while the exterior colour, Hakugin, has a pure white base with a delicate bright texture, enhanced with blue details to evoke the dynamic, zero-emission performance typical of electric cars.
