In the year of Lamborghini’s 60th anniversary, the brand from Sant’Agata Bolognese presents the Revuelto, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid V12 super sports car. Lamborghini Revuelto defines a new paradigm in terms of performance, sportiness and driving pleasure thanks to an unprecedented architecture, an innovative design, the most efficient aerodynamics, a new carbon-fibre chassis concept and a 1015 horsepower engine. Revuelto brings the future of Lamborghini design to the road while remaining faithful to the brand’s unique DNA and at the same time inaugurating a brand new design language that pays homage to the iconic Lamborghini V12s of the past through new shapes and proportions.

Starting from the Countach, the prototype that debuted in 1971, the Revuelto features perfect proportions developed on a single longitudinal line, creating a pure and essential style. The Countach defined the DNA of Lamborghini’s super sports cars, also introducing one of the most distinctive elements of the V12s from Sant’Agata Bolognese, the scissor doors, the vertically opening doors that also help define the character of the Revuelto. The new car also pays homage to the inimitable proportions of the Diablo, especially the rear fender, as well as the unmistakable muscularity and sloping front end of the Murcielago.

“With Revuelto we give shape to adrenalin itself,” comments Mitja Borkert, Lamborghini Head of Design, “and its design opens the door to the future of our design language”. Even at first glance Revuelto looks like a fascinating Lamborghini V12, with taut lines embracing the chassis, celebrating the new powertrain left exposed. The Y represents the most significant and recognisable signature in this new flagship, just as the interior represents an emphatic step forward in defining Lamborghini’s new design direction. The rear end is a tribute to the V12 hybrid: the fully exposed longitudinal engine enhances the mechanical heart of the Revuelto, also visually connecting it to the double hexagonal exhaust surmounted by the geometrically profiled wing, framed by the light clusters with their characteristic ‘Y’ light signatures.

With Revuelto, Lamborghini is in fact inaugurating a new immersive, shared driving experience, where driver and co-driver can simultaneously view the same information from displays positioned in the 12.3″ digital cockpit on the driver’s side, and in the 9.1″ display installed on the passenger side dashboard. The three digital screens not only meet the need for stylistic cleanliness by eliminating most of the physical buttons, but also implement new functions and allow the driver to concentrate fully on driving as in a racing car. Revuelto, in fact, introduces the ‘swipe’ function on a Lamborghini, thanks to which the driver and co-driver can move applications and information from the central display to the side displays with the same intuitive and gestural simplicity as using a smartphone. The steering wheel was inspired by the racing world and the Essenza SCV12 experience: the four rotors located on the spokes allow the driver to select both the driving mode and the car’s lifting system and the inclination of the rear wing.
