2024 is a key year for Polestar. The Manufacturer, born from the sporting branch of Volvo, is in fact adding the Polestar 3, an SUV with traditional shapes, and the brand new Polestar 4, an SUV-coupé (or crossover, if you prefer), which stands as a sort of flagship of the Swedish brand (although the “3” costs more). Not only that: it is also the record-breaking vehicle. It is, for example, the fastest car ever built by the brand. At the same time, it is the car with the smallest carbon footprint. A result, the latter, obtained thanks to countless precautions during the design and choice of materials phase.
Designed by the Polestar design team headed by Maximillian Missoni, head of Polestar design, aesthetically the car has the dual merit of fully respecting the brand’s stylistic language and having its own very strong personality. Clean in lines, as per Scandinavian tradition, it has a lower nose than the Polestar 3 and an extremely receding tail. The most striking thing is the total absence of a rear window. Rear visibility is guaranteed by a camera mounted at the rear end of the roof which projects images into the rearview mirror. It offers wide-angle vision and maintains optimal visibility in any light condition. Furthermore, it works in a proper way even with rain or dust, maintaining a clear view also in adverse weather.
Inside, still talking about records, the Polestar 4 is the Manufacturer model with the largest monitor: it has a diagonal of 15″4. Among the peculiarities, the car offers an internal lighting system that peeks out from under the texture of the door covering fabrics and the possibility of setting various color tones inspired by the different planets of the solar system. The car is available in a two-wheel drive version with 272 HP and in a more powerful 4WD version with 544 HP. Both are equipped with a 100 kWh battery and have ranges of 610 and 580 km respectively.
