The students of Industrial Design and Modelling Techniques were chosen a few weeks ago to collaborate with I.I.S. ‘G.Vallauri’ of Fossano and design a small electric racing car. The result? Saetta, a radio-controlled mini racing car that competed with nine other schools from all over Italy. The student designers from the Fossano institute were fascinated by the result, “an evocative design, inspired by the prototype sports cars of the 24-hour Le Mans, an object that summons speed even before its wheels move,” reads the description dossier.

School headmaster Paolo Cortese praised the skills of the students from both schools and their enthusiasm in venturing into research and experimentation of technologies and materials. AgenForm president Tommaso Mario Abrate, who has followed the birth of the Saetta concept from the very beginning, said he was proud to be able to help the boys enter the world of car design with grit and passion. AgenForm’s Savigliano office, also known as AgenForm CEMI (Centro Europeo di Modellismo Industriale – European Centre for Industrial Modelling), has been in operation since 2001, after relocating from Garessio, where it was born in 1998 from an idea by Giorgetto Giugiaro and Arrigo Gallizio. The project was originally born from the close collaboration between AgenForm and A.N.F.I.A.
