Jose Navarro has been appointed head of Italdesign’s Design Business Unit, overseeing all creative activities in the company’s automotive, transportation, and product design divisions. He succeeds Joaquin Garcia Sanchis, who is leaving the company after playing a key role in the evolution of Italdesign’s design philosophy.

A graduate in Industrial and Product Design from the Universitat Politècnica de València, Jose Navarro joined Italdesign in 1996. Over the course of his nearly thirty-year career, he has held positions of increasing responsibility, contributing to numerous key projects developed at the Moncalieri headquarters alongside Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro. During his tenure, he also supported activities related to Italdesign California, the U.S. subsidiary established to strengthen relationships with the design and engineering research centers of major automakers in the region.

He subsequently served as head of the Design department at Italdesign Barcelona and Italdesign China, and also gained significant experience as General Manager at Italdesign China. Throughout his career, Jose Navarro has developed a deep understanding of Italdesign’s history, culture, and international scope. His career path mirrors the company’s own evolution: a journey focused on global growth, innovation, and a forward-looking vision of design. “Jose Navarro best embodies internal growth at Italdesign,” said Antonio Casu, CEO of Italdesign. “Over the years, he has developed a deep understanding of our creative DNA and has helped consolidate our presence in the most strategic international markets. His experience, global vision, and solid design culture make him the ideal person to lead our creative direction with competence, passion, and a clear strategic focus.”
