With the new electric VLE, Mercedes-Benz is ushering in a new era. The first vehicle built on the modular, flexible, and scalable Van architecture, it benefits from the Mercedes-Benz operating system (MB.OS). The VLE aims to combine the best of both worlds: the driving comfort and handling of a flagship model with the spaciousness, versatility, and flexibility of a minivan. The new architecture has allowed designers to create a completely new design that combines form and function. The result is remarkable aerodynamics, with a drag coefficient of 0.25. The front overhang gives the VLE a prestigious look, while the taut roofline blends into the rounded rear. This aerodynamic silhouette expresses both power and lightness.
The front end features a typical Mercedes grille. Depending on the version, it has an illuminated frame, a continuous light strip connecting the headlights, star-shaped daytime running lights, a fixed star on the hood, or an integrated central star. A striking feature at the rear are the arched taillights, integrated into the spoiler that enhances aerodynamics. The light strip frames the rear like an inverted U and integrates all lighting functions, creating an unmistakable light signature that immediately catches the eye.
A key feature of a vehicle like this is the extraordinary interior experience. The VLE is equipped with a large Sky View panoramic roof. This fixed glass roof, made from a single piece, extends seamlessly from the center pillar to the rear and conveys an unprecedented feeling of space and freedom, as well as safety and tranquility. In addition, like all rear windows, including the separately opening one, it is equipped with an electric sunshade. The ambient lighting enhances the glass roof in a striking way. The icing on the cake is the maxi screen installed behind the front row of seats, which transforms the VLE into a traveling cinema.
