Genesis, Hyundai’s premium brand, has released the first images of the GV60, an electric Suv coupe built on the Korean group’s E-Gmp platform, already exploited by Kia EV6 and Ioniq 5. Currently, the GV60 is the most compact model of the Genesis brand and the styling follows the principles of the “Athletic Elegance” philosophy of the Korean premium brand. The exterior design highlights its high-performance image along with a dynamic and fluid appearance.
The GV60 incorporates some of the styling cues already seen on other Genesis models, such as a sporty overall stance, horizontally split headlamps and lights (Quad Lamps) and smooth volumes characterized by soft lines. The front of the GV60 highlights the electric propulsion of the vehicle by confining the “Crest Grille” in the lower part. For the first time, the designers opted for the “Clamshell Hood”, a single panel for the hood and fenders that gives the vehicle a greater presence on the road.
The profile of the GV60 reveals a strongly descending roofline that ends in a vertically developed rear. At the end of the rear window there is a fixed spoiler to aid aerodynamics on which the full-width LED brake light has been installed. The interiors of the GV60 have been designed in search of luxury and modernity. On the dashboard there are two large screens for the instrumentation and infotainment system, while at the height of the pillars there are two small displays that project images of the digital mirrors.
The central console is floating and houses the buttons for controlling the driving settings. The Crystal Sphere has been installed on the console: when the vehicle is switched off, the crystal ball projects the vehicle’s mood lighting, while in motion it becomes a functional tool for selecting transmission controls. The air conditioning compartment is separate, while the premium atmosphere is guaranteed by fine materials and new colour solutions such as blue leather with contrasting stitching that echoes the yellow color of the exterior.
