At the annual Kenshiki Forum meeting, Lexus released the first teasers of the RZ, its next electric model due in 2022. The car is the first Lexus model built on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform, the same platform on which the bZ4X will also debut in the first half of 2022. The Lexus RZ will have the architecture of an SUV coupe and a design that will echo that of the LF-Z Electrified concept car, presented in March 2021.

According to Spiros Fotinos, head of Lexus Europe, the RZ will feature Lexus-quality and sustainable interior materials. The car will be the first model from the Japanese premium manufacturer to be equipped with the Tazuna Cockpit, where the driver has everything at his or her fingertips and the instrumentation and infotainment displays are oriented towards him or her. A design philosophy that aims to radically reduce distractions while driving.
