A large Suv Coupe is Renault’s new flagship. The French manufacturer presented the Rafale, a D-segment model and the first Renault to be entirely designed according to the new design language introduced with the arrival of design chief Gilles Vidal. In this sense, the Rafale opens a new era in the French manufacturer’s styling. Meanwhile, Renault continues with the renewal of its entire model range: the Rafale is the latest after the Arkana, Mégane, Espace and Austral. The Rafale comes in a 200 horsepower full hybrid version and will be marketed in the autumn of 2024. At 4.71 metres long and 1.86 metres wide, the Rafale falls into the D-segment, while its height is 1.61 metres.

“Rafale is a powerful illustration of the new design language. It echoes its DNA in its generous curves, treated with great precision, combined with taut lines and technical details that give it character and refinement. With its unprecedented style, quality of execution and proportions, Rafale asserts its power and personality on the road,’ said Gilles Vidal. The slightly raised fastback body, protected by Gloss Black elements, places it in the coupe SUV category. It is a car with a dynamic and sporty profile. The very pronounced shoulders mass around the rear wheels, suggesting a force of impulse, as if the car were ready to sprint; the rear protection ski also lifts up on the bumper, propelling it forward, while the sloping shape of the roof, with its final protrusion, conveys an idea of speed.

On the inside, the Rafale has a brand new Solarbay opaque glass roof and features the dual OpenR display on the dashboard, which is distinguished by interfaces with new graphics. New seats, a dedicated rear armrest for second row passengers and many innovations in the choice of colours and materials. Equipped with side bolsters in line with the vehicle’s dynamic qualities, the seats offer particularly accurate lateral and longitudinal support. The Alcantara upholstery contributes to driver support and a sporty ambience, as well as being eco-friendly, being the first time that Alcantara is 61 per cent recycled.
