The design of a hypercar, with the performance of a supercar, at the price of a sports car. The Ares S1, the Modenese atelier’s most recent project, was developed around this axiom. If on looks and performance the bulls-eye has been hit, the same cannot be said of the price, considering that the entry price is set at around 700,000 Euro. From a stylistic point of view, the Ares Modena design centre has worked some real magic: starting from the technical basis offered by the Corvette C8, they managed to shape a car that recalls the lines of the legendary ones that raced the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Sixties.
A homage to the past that is expressed in the presence of very marked front wings, always clearly visible when behind the wheel, that blend with much more modern contents such as the rear part featuring a large opening designed to cool the 525 HP 6.2 V8 engine, crossed by a thin LED light strip. Overall, on the Ares S1, form follows function, with all body panels (in carbon fibre) moulded to ensure optimum aerodynamic efficiency.
Inside the cabin, one is catapulted into an environment of luxury and sophistication. Upon closing the striking vertically opening doors, one is surrounded by materials such as leather, Alcantara and carbon fibre. There is no lack of technological content either, displayed with the presence of three screens: one for the driver positioned behind the steering wheel, one in front of the passenger and one at the centre of the dashboard with the infotainment system. But the real added value of the S1, and of the Ares in general, is the almost boundless customisation possibilities, which allow customers of the new Modenese hypercar to personalise their car in each and every component.
