Alfa Romeo presented at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese the new 33 Stradale, a super sports car that takes its style and intentions from the homonymous ancestor designed in 1967 by Franco Scaglione. The result of the Alfa Romeo Centro Stile led by Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, the new 33 Stradale is inspired by the historic 1967 model, enriching its sculptural beauty with some design elements of Alfa Romeo’s new design language. The exterior is characterised by a perfect balance between proportions, volumes and surface treatment, representing the epitome of Alfa Romeo’s “necessary beauty”. “The design is inspired with respect by Franco Scaglione’s masterpiece of 1967 with a bold look at the lines of future Alfa Romeo models. The result is the result of the skills and the best tradition of Italian design. A real manifesto of “essential beauty”: a few lines, sensual and at the same time powerful capable of arousing desire and strong emotions”, said Alejandro Mesonero. The sports car is produced by the Milanese coachbuilder Touring Superleggera.

The 33 Stradale has volume, powerful and muscular, characterized by the sinuous roundness typical of Alfa Romeo, of which the 33 Stradale of 1967 represents the maximum expression.  There are also some stylistic features that refer to the unmistakable “V” on the mud – this term identifies the single component that integrates the bonnet and mudguard – which recalls the air outlet of the 33/2. In addition, the front of the car is set with the characteristic Alfa Romeo “shield” – in carbon fibre and the version with classic or three-dimensional logo – the point of convergence of the two ribs that run on the front is chosen by the customer. Strongly slender and dynamic, the side ideally transfers all the power and energy expressed by the strong muscularity of the car to the rear axle. Two large side air intakes, necessary for cooling the intercooler, graphically and volumetrically define the origin and development of the rear muscles.

Rear: it is the area of the car that contains the “brutal” essence of the Stradale. The truncated tail, thanks to a central “V” shape, brings the perception of the color of the bodywork up and leaves the technical part in carbon fiber at the bottom in sight. The rear lights, deeply evolved, represent a strong reference to the round ones of the forerunner. The side direction indicator is divided into two parts, one integrated in the center of the rear light and another that emerges in the side part of the mudguard giving life to a reinterpretation of the side air outlets behind the rear wheel. The development of the exterior was characterized from the beginning by the need to enhance the style of the car and the technical characteristics both from a dynamic and aerodynamic point of view; For this reason, all the style solutions adopted have been optimized according to the ultimate goal: performance.

Inside the 33 you can breathe, as on the historic car, the precise intent to offer an approach to driving totally purified of all the interactions necessary on conventional cars. In front of the driver there is a display that, thanks to a three-dimensionality of the “telescope” applied to it, involves the driver in a unique interaction of its kind. Finally, the same materials and colors of the seats are used to cover the door panels, the dashboard, the cockpit and the central tunnel, thus creating an exclusive environment. The 33 Stradale will be produced in 33 specimens and can be chosen with a 3.0 V6 petrol engine with 620 horsepower or in an electric version with 750 horsepower and 450 kilometers of range.
