Restyling time has come for the sixth generation Opel Corsa. The German manufacturer’s smallest model has been revised in terms of look and content, bringing to debut a style more in line with Opel’s current direction. Eun Seok Lee, Assistant Chief Exterior Designer at Opel, told us about the work done on the new Corsa. “The inspiration comes from the GT X Experimental that we presented in 2019 – explains the designer – The styling of the front end has been taken from it. Now it sports the large Vizor grille that incorporates the light clusters and the brand logo in a single element in glossy black. A solution that makes the model be recognizable at a glance and helps to make the Corsa look wider than it actually is”.

Speaking of the light clusters, they are not only changing in style, but also in technology, with the Matrix LEDs going from 8 to 14 light modules. The bumper is also all-new, now featuring larger air intakes that give the car a sportier look. Remaining on the exterior, small changes are also found on the tailgate, on which the model lettering now stands out.

Inside the cabin, the real protagonists are the technological contents, which are expressed in the presence of two side-by-side screens, one acting as an instrument panel and the other in the centre of the dashboard with infotainment functions. Some upholstery and the texture of the seats have also been revised. A fine job, then, that Opel’s designers did, which earned the model the “Best New Design of 2023” in the “Small Car” category in the context of the Autonis Design Awards 2023.
